Academics

Tuscaloosa Christian School provides a strong college-preparatory, academic program with a Biblical perspective.  The course of study emphasizes the integration of Biblical truths and principles in all academic areas.  Challenging curriculum materials from Christian publishers are used at all grade levels.

Teachers at Tuscaloosa Christian School must be qualified both academically and spiritually to be a part of our staff.  Teachers must be certified to teach in their primary area of instruction.  All staff must also give evidence of being born-again believers and of living an exemplary Christian life.

Tuscaloosa Christian School maintains accreditations with the Cognia (formerly AdvancED/SACS), The American Association of Christian Schools (AACS), and the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA).

Fine Arts are an important part of the academic program at Tuscaloosa Christian.  Art, Speech and Drama, Choir, and Band (marching and concert) are options for choosing in the required fine arts credit area.  Students in all areas of fine arts compete in Alabama Christian Education Association state contests as well as other performing opportunities: school musical and drama productions; regional marching band and concert band festivals; and church and school ministry opportunities.
