Student Life
Every year in the fall, our secondary students and faculty travel to Shocco Springs for 2 days of fun competition, camaraderie, and spiritual growth. Students have the opportunity to compete in various individual and group events. Additionally, all students participate with their grade level for the coveted "TCS Madness" championship. Students attend multiple services during the retreat as well. Some of our more recent guest speakers include Jeff Keaton (RenewANation) Jeff Knight (formerly Tuscaloosa Baptist Association Mission Director), Joel Frederick (Pastor, Grace Life Baptist Church), and Jason Jones (Pastor, Evergreen Baptist Church). For many students, this is the highlight of their school year!
Community service is volunteer work done by a person or group of people that benefits others. It is a requirement for high school graduation at TCS, not to mention critical to the college application process. Community service can help many different groups of people: children, senior citizens, people with disabilities, even animals and the environment.
