2017-2018 Classroom Supply List

Tuscaloosa Christian School’s kindergarten has a strong academic program. The curriculum of choice is A Beka Book. Beginning with our students in K4, an intensive phonics-based program is used to teach reading. Our K5 groups have tested at the 99th percentile nationally for the last several years. All academics are taught in the morning. If you choose for your kindergarten child to stay all day, they will go to aftercare at 12:35 and eat lunch, take a nap, and participate in enrichment activities for the rest of the afternoon. Mrs. Michelle Cox, K4 Teacher
Mrs. Cox has taught for seven years, with five of them being at TCS. She and her family attend SOMA, where they volunteer with different orgnizations such as Love Inc, the children’s ministry, sports programs, and tutoring programs. “I’ve always had a passion and love for working with children and have always known that God placed that calling on my life. When my children reached school age, we wanted them raised and educated in a Christian school. After much prayer and consideration, we felt God leading us to TCS. I was impressed by the curriculum, the school mission, and the dedication of the staff at TCS. The staff and faculty care and love each child as their own, and in today’s world, it is important to have this christian influence and guidance.”
